I will have a stick figure who needs to excercise.  He will ask you to click on him to do jumping jacks.  That’s all he does at the moment.  Eventually the more you click on him the thinner he will get (I plan on doing this by simply reducing the stroke in Illustrator).  After he is very thin, he will grow very tired, and if you click on him again he will collapse.  I’ll then try to come up with a way to stand him back up.

Web 2.0

Ajax

RIA

McCabe Homes is an Austin based home building company focused on surpassing client expectations.  Jonathan McCabe, Owner, insists on being hands –on throughout the entire building process to ensure the client’s needs are met with superior quality and value.
Jonathan McCabe grew up just outside of Houston in Richmond, TX.  Jonathan looks up to his father, Jim McCabe, and has always admired his entrepreneurial drive.  Jim started his own company, Sensible Technologies, over 20 years ago and remains successful in everything he does.  The entrepreneur spirit of his father laid the foundation for Jonathan to believe in his talents, and work hard for what he believes in.

The Building Process

1.  Interview:  The first step in choosing a builder is a client – builder interview.  During this process, the client is encouraged to ask as may questions as possible.  The questions and answers are beneficial to the client and the builder in finding common ground to move toward the same goal.

2.  Land:  The second step is lot selection.  McCabe Homes has lots available for sale.  We can build on your lot, or we can find a lot with just the right attributes.

3.  Design:  Now it is time to meet with the architects.  This is the most exciting part because your dream becomes reality on paper.

4.    Financing:  Most

5.    Contract:  Here we formalize our agreement on time, cost, and selection.

6.    Build:  Hooray!  The building process usually last 4 to 8 months depending on the size and finish out of the house.

The typical user is anyone interested in choosing McCabe Homes as their home builder.  This includes prospective home buyers, both first time buyers and seasoned buyers.  Also, realtors who are very versed in builder sites.  The prospective buyers will be looking for a professional site that is informative about the company, the builder personally, and of course photos.  Some clients will purchase an already existing home, while others will use the site as an interview for custom home building.

I like the layout and feel. the “contact us” should be more noticeable.
i like the “home buying basics” part. i like educating the customer.
they chose blue because it invokes loyalty which is a good thing. think
it can be simplified. that’s what will separate your site. it needs to
be as easy to use as possible.

like the use of white space; helps with readability. but i don’t get a
“feel” when looking at it. it isn’t enjoyable or memorable. i do like
the flash banner in the middle that keeps changing images. that would be
easy to do and it would be nice to showcase some of your homes. the
rollover menus all change to a different color; don’t know why. it’s confusing and not
consistent.   i like how this one is organized, but it feels boring.
i don’t think it would bring someone back later.

i got a pretty good feeling initialy. i like that small red banner
animation thing. i would put something else there, but it’s eye cathing,

again the changing of the home images is cool. i could’t find immediately
how to get hold of them. i think that should be a primary part of the

this site looks slick, but i don’t think it gives the right feel. it seems
cold to me. the site should be warm and inviting. it’s hard to find
where to get back to the home page after navigating for a little while.
people shouldn’t feel lost when navigating the site. there are some
design elements i like on this site, but should be executed in a warmer
fashion.
